Dr. Sarika Patel graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2008. Joining Shaffer Animal Hospital in June 2008, she instantly felt right at home. She enjoys building and nurturing long term relationships with clients and their pets. Her veterinary interests include general surgery, dentistry and cardiology. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys a variety of activities ranging from ballroom dancing to spending quality time with her husband. Dr. Patel looks forward to traveling abroad when she can.

Dr. Nicole Gerrish graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, and has been a proud member of Shaffer Animal Hospital’s team ever since. Dr. Gerrish enjoys the variety of cases she sees, but has a special interest in behavior and ophthalmology. She is proud of the relationships she has built with clients who have become like family over the years of working together to care for their pets, and looks forward to continuing to make the hospital experience for patients as low-stress as possible. When she is not in the office, you can probably find her training for a marathon (she has run 26+ of them!), or traveling to hike in the mountains with her husband Steve. She has two rambunctious kitties, Mel Tucker and Tom Izzo.

Dr. Jennifer Jubenville hails from Ontario, Canada and graduated in 2014 from the University of Ross School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Jubenville pursued an equine internship in Florida and has been working with horses and small animals for the last 6 years in Orlando. Dr. Jenn is excited to be a member of the Shaffer team as of May, 2021. Dr. Jenn is Fear Free Certified and loves all aspects of medicine however has a passion for preventative medicine, geriatric care, behaviour and rehabilitation medicine. When not in the office Dr. Jenn enjoys riding or hanging out at home with her 2 cats ( Finn and Sirius), and Peanutt ( a grinch of a small terrier) or working on new tricks with her Greenwing macaw Oscar.

Dr. Haley Witt is an Indiana native who graduated from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. She is thrilled to join the Shaffer team as of Spring 2023! Some of her veterinary interests include dermatology and preventative medicine. When Dr. Witt is not busy at the clinic, she enjoys live music events, birdwatching, and spoiling her three pets, Tiny, Rambo & Captain.

Dr. Kelsey Smith graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2023. She is so excited to be escaping the Indiana winters and venturing south to join the amazing team of doctors at Shaffer Animal Hospital in June of 2023! Dr. Smith enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but her special interests include shelter medicine, general surgery, and alternative pain management. Outside of the veterinary world, she enjoys reading, going to the gym, listening to a good true crime podcast, and spending time in the sunshine with her husband and their two big-headed pit mixes, Toby and Louis.
